The Gypsea Gelato Story
After spending years at sea on commercial fishing and dive boats across the world, we settled down on the Big Island of Hawaii and started Gypsea Gelato in 2014 in a tiny space in Kealakekua. Since then, we have grown into a mighty crew of 20+ team members, three shops, and one central kitchen.
We strive to use the best ingredients, sourced as close as possible to us on the Big Island. We have close relationships with our farmers, whether that’s white pineapple for our sorbet, fresh mint for Mint Chip, or lemongrass and ginger for Tom Kha. We’re so thankful to call this beautiful island home and look forward to welcoming you, your friends, and your family to our shops soon.
