Kings' Shops - Store Manager

We’re looking for a Store Manager to lead our Kings’ Shops location at Gypsea Gelato! This role is perfect for someone who wants to grow their leadership skills in a supportive environment while working hands-on with their team. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who loves connecting with people, motivates and inspires others, and ensures smooth operations and excellent hospitality. As Store Manager, you’ll work alongside your team serving gelato and keeping the store running, while also handling hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, inventory, and communication with the Gypsea Gelato leadership team.

What you’ll do and more!

Staffing & Leadership

  • Interview, hire, and train new team members with warmth and clarity
  • Post weekly schedules, balancing team availability with business needs, and ensure coverage when call-outs happen (including stepping in yourself when necessary)
  • Provide ongoing coaching, recognition, and feedback to help your team succeed
  • Hold team members accountable to expectations while fostering a supportive and respectful work environment
  • Manage team time entries and ensure accurate reporting

Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards
  • Conduct and lead opening/closing procedures
  • Carefully monitor and communicate inventory needs; order gelato and supplies from the Gypsea Gelato kitchen multiple times per week
  • Track sales, labor, and waste reports to ensure efficient operations and meet company goals

Communication & Collaboration

  • Provide open, timely communication with your leadership team about store updates, challenges, and new ideas
  • Participate in manager meetings and contribute to company-wide initiatives
  • Help maintain an overall positive team environment by role-modeling teamwork, respect, and Gypsea Gelato’s values

Guest Experience & Service

  • Work directly in the store alongside Servers and Shift Leads to scoop gelato, serve customers, clean, and keep the shop welcoming
  • Ensure every guest receives friendly, fast, and consistent service
  • Train the team on hospitality standards, gelato knowledge, and making personalized recommendations
  • Handle customer concerns with professionalism and care

Additional Details

  • Expect an 80:20 ratio of in-store service to office/administrative work
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills for Qualifications

  • Have morning, closing, holiday, and weekend availability
  • Clearly communicate within a team
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities, including coaching, motivating, and holding team members accountable
  • Show strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure
  • Comfort with managing numbers — basic math, tracking sales/labor, and understanding budgets
  • Be highly organized and possess strong time-management skills
  • Candidates should possess a natural sense of hospitality, customer service, be eager to learn, open to feedback, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Basic understanding of computer systems, such as Microsoft Word.

Schedule

While the Store Manager will set their own schedule, they are expected to work a combination of opening and closing shifts, and be able to cover shifts as needed.  This may mean working weekends or occasional holidays.   30-40 hours a week is expected.

Pay

$25-$27 per hour
